Do you have a girlfriend? I was seeing a girl but it didn't work out. Because of work and school I didn't get to see her as often as I would like. In fact, I hardly got to see her at all and it fizzled out. I haven't had a serious girlfriend yet, but maybe I will now that I have more time.
We've heard you've been secretly dating Brooke Satchwell who plays Anne in the show... Not true. The rumours started because we both got our belly buttons pierced at the same time. We're just good friends. Honest.
Do you get a lot of fan letters? Yeah, and most of them are really nice. Some are personal and they want to go out with me, they even put their phone numbers on the bottom and ask me to give them a call. But I couldn't call anyone I don't know, it's not something I do.
Do fans ever track you down in strange places? Oh yeah! I was standing in the shallow end of a swimming pool trying to catch my breath after swimming ten laps in the local pool when two girls lent over and asked me for my autograph. The ink ran and the paper went all wet and soffy and we started laughing. The guy next to me in the water didn't know who I was or what was going on.
Have you ever been picked on cos you're famous? I was in a pub recently and this guy called me a name. I thought he was being funny so I said something back to him. I didn't realise it but he was looking for a punch-up. Luckily my brother stepped in and pulled me away otherwise this guy would have decked me. People can get aggressive but I can talk myself out of nasty situations.
You've just left school, what's it like being a free man? It feels weird because I've had two years of pressure trying to juggle my work at school with Neighbours. Suddenly the pressure is off.
How did you feel when you walked out of school for the last time? It was a lot different to what I expected. School was my security blanket. When it hit me I was going out into the big wide world I got scared. I went through a teenage crisis, wondering if my career was safe. Then I realised I had to grow up and act responsibly.
So what will you do now? I've applied for a university science course, but even if I get in, I'll defer. If the acting keeps going well I'd rather stick with that.
You're nearly 19, you've been in Neighbours for three-and-a-half years, doyou worry you've missed out on anything? Absolutely not. I've learned an awful lot and met some great people. It's helped me grow up. Hopefully, I'm now a better actor than when I joined.
Girls put posters of you on their walls, does that embarrass you? It's kind of weird because I don't see myself as a big star or a teen icon. I just see myself as me. It's not my personality to want to face in magazines. You can't stop it and it doesn't bother me.
You must have earned loads of money, what do you do with it all? It goes into the bank. I'm planning to buy a car soon. Up 'til now, I've been using my parents car but it's time to have one of my own. I don't want to spend much money on it cos I'll probably bash it up. If I have something zippy, I'll only crash it and hurt myself.
Are you leaving Neighbours this year? I'm on a year-by-year contract and it's due to finish again this August so we'll see how things are then.
You came to London last year, did you like it? It was a bit of a disappointment cos I got food poisoning and most of the time I was being sick all over the place.
Sounds nasty. Is that your worst holiday story? The worst was when I used to sing in the Australian Boys Choir. Seven years ago we didn a tour of California and then we were told we were going to Disneyland. But when we got there, we drove straight past the gates. I was feeling so bad I almost started a protest strike.
