Jesse Spencer & Jennifer Morrison Break Engagement Perth Now, Australia, 16th August 2007
AUSTRALIAN actor Jesse Spencer and his co-star fiance Jennifer Morrison have called off their engagement - only weeks before they were due to marry.
The couple, who met on the set of hit television drama House, today revealed they had called off their wedding, which was due to take place in Los Angeles later this year.
"After much consideration, we have decided not to get married," the couple said in a joint statement today.
"We are still very close, and we look forward to continuing to work together on House."
No reason was given for the end of the engagement and it was not clear whether the couple had split.
Spencer, who sprang to fame playing Billy Kennedy on Neighbours, proposed to Morrison, 28, at the Eiffel Tower while they were on holiday in Paris for Christmas.
The pair met in March 2004 while en route to shoot the House pilot in Vancouver and kept their romance a secret from their television colleagues for three months.
Spencer, 28, revealed in an interview with the US edition of In Style Weddings magazine, which features Morrison on the cover, that he and his fiance did not share a home and planned not to live together until they were married.
