MELBOURNE boy-turned-star Jesse Spencer has called off his engagement to House co-star Jennifer Morrison just weeks before the pair were due to marry.
The couple, who met on the set of the hit television drama, revealed yesterday they had called off their nuptials, which were to happen in Los Angeles this year.
"After much consideration, we have decided not to get married," the couple said in a joint statement.
"We are still very close, and we look forward to continuing to work together on House."
No reason was given for ending the engagement, and it was not clear whether the couple, both 28, had split.
Spencer, who sprang to fame playing Billy Kennedy on Neighbours, proposed to Morrison at the Eiffel Tower while they were on holiday in Paris for Christmas.
The pair met in March 2004 while en route to shoot the House pilot in Vancouver and kept their romance a secret from their television colleagues for three months.
Spencer revealed in an interview with the US edition of In Style Weddings magazine, which features Morrison on the cover, that he and his fiancee had planned not to live together until they were married.
